Community Church of Douglaston

Music

Under the direction of organist and choir director Elizabeth Frank, worship at CCD is enhanced by a lively ministry of music. The Senior Choir offers sacred choral music from Bach to spirituals at every service, and the Junior/Youth Choir sings songs of love and praise each week. The chime of the Leonhardt Memorial Carillon calls the community to worship, and the magnificently restored Austin 3-manual pipe organ accompanies the congregation in hymns old and new. Christmas Choral Vespers and the Good Friday Service of Darkness inspire and delight with special music and guest instrumentalists. Our complete handbell collection is available for children and adults who seek a unique opportunity to participate in ensemble music making. In addition, our church hosts organ recitals and musical events, such as Opera Night performances, in the Jean Kenney Parlor.
