On July 13, Community Church held the 53rd annual Galilean Service at the Douglaston Dock. God blessed us with a beautiful day and a meaningful worship celebration, which not even a hovering NYPD helicopter could manage to derail.
Music for the service was provided by Marie Mularczyk and members of CCD's Praise and Worship Team. Pastor Albert preached on Matthew 14:22-23, the story of how the disciples found themselves on a boat in a storm and Jesus who came walking towards them on the water. He talked about how we sometimes are battered by the storms of life, and how we can better understand them.
The service included the remembrance of the following members and friends of CCD who passed away since the last Galilean Service:
Linda Mule
Kay MacDermott
Pat McGrath
Douglas Montgomery
A beautiful wreath in their memory was committed to the waters of the Little Neck Bay. After the service, everyone enjoyed some lovely refreshments.
