Holy Week Schedule

Since Ash Wednesday we have been on a journey called "Are We There Yet?" The journey will continue through Holy Week and conclude on Easter Sunday. That's not really the end though - the journey repeats.

We wish to invite you go deeper in your faith and grow in your relationship with God by traveling with us from Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday. A list and description of our Holy Week acitvities can be found below. 

Palm Sunday - April 13 at 10:30 am

Everyone loves a parade but what happens when the party is over? Real hope is built in daily acts of showing up – in times of celebration, in times of challenge, and in the ordinary in-between.

Maundy Thursday Dinner - April 17 at 7:30 pm

The disciples thought they knew where they were going but Jesus says, “Where I am going, you cannot come.” Instead, he gives them instructions for a detour, “Love one another.” How do we love one another on the roadway to God? 

We will be together in the parlor for a potluck dinner and the celebration of the Lord's Supper. To help with our planning and make sure we are prepared, registration is required for this intimate worship experience. Call the church office at 718-229-2169 or email the church adminstrator at secretary.ccd@verizon.net. The last day to register is Tuesday, April 15 by end of day. 

Good Friday Tenebrae Service - April 18 at 7:30 pm

Jesus’ cross feels like the worst kind of arrival; it bears the finality of death. When “arriving” means there is nowhere left to go, Jesus remains with us holding the promise that even this is not our final stop. Special music will be part of this most meaningful experience.

Easter Sunday Celebration - April 20 at 10:30 am

Death is not our final arrival. Jesus lives and so do we. He sends us out on the journey anew and promises to be with us the whole way. Come share in the joy of Resurrection Sunday!
