HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Recently, Community Church hosted a powerful, immersive event to support Mosaic, an organization dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children in South Africa. We were honored to welcome Mosaic’s CEO, Meyer Conradie, and Donor Relations Manager, Annemarie Meisenholl, along with Tony and Cammy Brantzeg from Mosaic in America.

Attendees—including our own members and friends from the Giving Tree—were moved by Meyer’s presentation on the strength of family-based care. We followed the inspiring journey of Thapelo, a former orphan who has grown into a leader within his community. For a truly immersive look at the mission, guests used virtual reality headsets to "walk through" a South African township, bringing the reality of the work to life.

Highlights & Impact:

  • Mission Opportunities: Tony Brantzeg sparked great excitement among our adults and youth regarding upcoming mission trips to South Africa.

  • Immersive Tech: The VR station provided a unique, eye-opening perspective on the challenges and beauty of the region.

  • Generosity in Action: We are thrilled to announce that together we raised $6,000! These funds will provide full sponsorship for three families for an entire year.

Thank you to everyone who attended and donated. Your support is helping Mosaic turn stories of hardship into stories of hope!

Investing in Hope: Walk With a "Mosaic Mom"

Our community has a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable families through Mosaic’s Support-a-Mom initiative. This program is designed to walk alongside the incredible caregivers—often grandmothers or aunts—who have stepped up to raise two or more orphaned and vulnerable children in their communities.

Strengthening the Heart of the Home

Mosaic believes that behind every thriving child is one caring adult. The Family Development Program focuses on strengthening the family unit by equipping these "Mosaic Moms" with the tools, confidence, and emotional support they need to lead their households. By building stable, nurturing environments, we help ensure that children have a safe place to heal and grow.

What Does Your Support Provide?

A contribution of $2,000 per year supports a family household within the program. This investment provides holistic care led by qualified social workers, including:

  • Emotional & Spiritual Care: Trauma counseling, personal therapy, and caregiver prayer groups.

  • Practical Training: Parenting workshops and one-on-one coaching to navigate behavioral challenges.

  • Essential Advocacy: Assistance with medical care access, foster grant applications, and legal referrals.

A Relational Journey

While Mosaic prioritizes the privacy and dignity of these families by not facilitating direct contact, supporters are never far from the story. Donors receive two meaningful updates per year, providing a window into the milestones, challenges, and growth of the family they are walking alongside.

By supporting a Mosaic Mom, we aren't just funding a service; we are investing in a story of courage and hope. We look forward to sharing more about how our church can engage with this vital ministry in South Africa through prayer, financial support, and future service opportunities.

Reimagining Hope: The Work of Mosaic South Africa

Since 2008, Mosaic South Africa has been on a mission to transform the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children. Moving away from traditional institutional care, this non-profit organization focuses on a powerful, family-centered vision: ensuring every child grows up in a loving home where they are equipped to reach their God-given potential. Based in Paarl, South Africa, Mosaic operates through three strategic pillars to create lasting change:

  • Family-Based Care: They empower caregivers and children with the emotional, academic, and social tools needed to thrive as a family unit.

  • Organizational Mentorship: By sharing their training and resources with like-minded partners, Mosaic amplifies the reach of effective orphan care across the region.

  • Data-Driven Impact: Using their specialized Wellbi platform, they use data to track progress and ensure every intervention is making a measurable difference.

The results of this dedicated work are seen in lives like Vusi’s. After joining the Mosaic family at age 11, Vusi is now a qualified Social Worker, giving back to the community that supported him.
